“And if you are in doubt as to that which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a chapter like it and call on your witnesses besides Allah if you are truthful.”

Syed Abu Muhammad Naqvi · UR

Should you have any doubt about what We have revealed to Our servant, present one chapter comparable to it and call all your supporters, besides God, if your claim is true.

Tafsir

The Quran issues its boldest challenge here — the Challenge of Inimitability (Tahaddi): if you doubt that this Book is from Allah, produce a single surah like it. The challenge has stood for fourteen centuries unanswered, and regards this as one of the most compelling rational proofs for the divine origin of the Quran. The inimitability of the Quran is not merely literary — it is comprehensive: its internal consistency across 23 years of revelation, its precise guidance across every dimension of human life, its transformation of human souls at the deepest level. The Challenge invites every doubter to engage honestly with the text rather than dismiss it.
