كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ
“You are the best of the nations raised up for (the benefit of) men; you enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong and believe in Allah; and if the followers of the Book had believed it would have been better for them; of them (some) are believers and most of them are transgressors.”

تم بہترین امت ہو جسے لوگوں کے لئے منظرعام پر لایا گیا ہے تم لوگوں کو نیکیوں کا حکم دیتے ہو اور برائیوں سے روکتے ہو اور اللہ پر ایمان رکھتے ہو اور اگر اہل کتاب بھی ایمان لے آتے تو ان کے حق میں بہتر ہوتا لیکن ان میں صرف چند مومنین ہیں اور اکثریت فاسق ہے
