Tafsir
The phrase Allah mocks them is one the commentators have always handled with care. Allah does not mock in the human sense of petty ridicule; rather, as explains, the Arabic istihza here refers to a divine response that turns the hypocritesown schemes against them. They sought to exploit the believers and escape consequences — but Allah allows them to persist in their delusion while secretly their transgression deepens and their final reckoning grows heavier. Theextension' Allah grants them is not a mercy but a rope: every additional moment of unrepentant hypocrisy binds them more tightly to their end.
