۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلرَّسُولُ لَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَلَمْ تُؤْمِن قُلُوبُهُمْ ۛ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ ۛ سَمَّـٰعُونَ لِلْكَذِبِ سَمَّـٰعُونَ لِقَوْمٍ ءَاخَرِينَ لَمْ يَأْتُوكَ ۖ يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلْكَلِمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوَاضِعِهِۦ ۖ يَقُولُونَ إِنْ أُوتِيتُمْ هَـٰذَا فَخُذُوهُ وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْتَوْهُ فَٱحْذَرُوا۟ ۚ وَمَن يُرِدِ ٱللَّهُ فِتْنَتَهُۥ فَلَن تَمْلِكَ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يُرِدِ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُطَهِّرَ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا خِزْىٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
“O Apostle! let not those grieve you who strive together in hastening to unbelief from among those who say with their mouths: We believe, and their hearts do not believe, and from among those who are Jews; they are listeners for the sake of a lie, listeners for another people who have not come to you; they alter the words from their places, saying: If you are given this, take it, and if you are not given this, be cautious; and as for him whose temptation Allah desires, you cannot control anything for him with Allah. Those are they for whom Allah does not desire that He should purify their hearts; they shall have disgrace in this world, and they shall have a grievous chastisement in the hereafter.”

ای پیغمبر، غمگین مباش از آنان که به زبان اظهار ایمان کنند و به دل ایمان ندارند و به راه کفر شتابند، و اندوهناک مباش از آن یهودانی که جاسوسی کنند و سخنان دروغ (و فتنهخیز به جای کلمات حق) به آن قومی که (از کبر) نزد تو نیامدند میرسانند؛ کلمات حق را بعد از آنکه به جای خود مقرّر گشت تغییر دهند و گویند: اگر حکم قرآن این گونه آورده شد بپذیرید و الاّ دوری گزینید. و هر کس را خدا به آزمایش و رسوایی افکند هرگز تو او را از (قهر) خدا نتوانی رهانید، آنها کسانی هستند که خدا نخواسته دلهاشان را پاک گرداند، و آنان را در دنیا ذلّت و خواری و در آخرت عذاب بزرگ مهیّاست.

Messenger, do not be grieved about the people who run back to disbelief. They only say that they believe but, in fact, they have no faith in their hearts. Some Jews knowingly listen to lies and accept the lies which come from others, (Jews), who have no relation with you and who distort certain words of the Bible and say to the people, "Accept only those words which are the same as what We have told you. If you do not, then beware!" You can not help those whom God wants to try. God does not want to cleanse the hearts of such people. They lead a disgraceful life in this world and in the life hereafter they will suffer a great torment.

اے رسول ایمان کا دعویٰ کرنے والوں میں جو لوگ کفر کی طرف جلد بازی سے بڑھ رہے ہیں ان کی حرکات سے آپ رنجیدہ نہ ہوں -یہ صرف زبان سے ایمان کا نام لیتے ہیں اور ان کے دل مومن نہیں ہیں اور یہودیوں میں سے بھی بعض ایسے ہیں جو جھوٹی باتیں سنتے ہیں اور دوسری قوم والے جو آپ کے پاس حاضر نہیں ہوئے انہیں سناتے ہیں - یہ کلمات کو ان کی جگہ سے ہٹا دیتے ہیں اور لوگوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ اگر پیغمبر کی طرف سے یہی دیا جائے تو لے لینا اور اگر یہ نہ دیا جائے تو پرہیز کرنا اور جس کے فتنہ کے بارے میں خدا ارادہ کرلے اس کے بارے میں آپ کا کوئی اختیار نہیں ہے یہ وہ افراد ہیں جن کے بارے میں خدا نے یہ ارادہ ہی نہیں کیا کہ زبردستی ان کے دلوں کو پاک کردے گا -ان کے لئے دنیا میں بھی رسوائی ہے اور آخرت میں بھی عذابِ عظیم ہے
