فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ
“But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted myself entirely to Allah and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and Allah sees the servants.”

اے پیغمبر اگر یہ لوگ آپ سے کٹ حجتی کریں تو کہہ دیجئے کہ میرا رخ تمام تر اللہ کی طرف ہے اور میرے پیرو بھی ایسے ہی ہیں اور پھر اہلِ کتاب اور جاہل مشرکین سے پوچھئے کیا تم اسلام لے آئے- اگر وہ اسلام لے آئے تو گویا ہدایت پاگئے اور اگر منہ پھیر لیا تو آپ کا فرض صرف تبلیغ تھا اور اللہ اپنے بندوں کو خوب پہچانتا ہے

پس اگر با تو (برای مخالفت با دین حقّ، به باطل) احتجاج کنند، بگو: من و پیروانم خود را تسلیم امر خدا نمودهایم. و بگو با اهل کتاب و با امّیان: آیا شما هم (چون حق پدیدار شود) تسلیم حق شده و ایمان آرید؟ و چنانچه ایمان آرند هدایت یافتهاند و اگر (از حق) روی گردانند بر تو چیزی جز تبلیغ (دین خدا) نیست و خداوند به حال بندگان بیناست.

(Muhammad), if the People of the Book argue against you, say, "I and those who follow me have submitted ourselves to God." Ask the People of the Book and the illiterate ones, "Have you embraced Islam?" If they embrace Islam, they will find guidance but if they turn away, your task is just to preach. God knows all about His servants.
