فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ
“Thus it is due to mercy from Allah that you deal with them gently, and had you been rough, hard hearted, they would certainly have dispersed from around you; pardon them therefore and ask pardon for them, and take counsel with them in the affair; so when you have decided, then place your trust in Allah; surely Allah loves those who trust.”

به مرحمت خدا بود که با خلق مهربان گشتی و اگر تندخو و سختدل بودی مردم از گِرد تو متفرق میشدند، پس از (بدیِ) آنان درگذر و برای آنها طلب آمرزش کن و (برای دلجویی آنها) در کارِ (جنگ) با آنها مشورت نما، لیکن آنچه تصمیم گرفتی با توکل به خدا انجام ده، که خدا آنان را که بر او اعتماد کنند دوست دارد.

Only through the Divine Mercy have you (Muhammad) been able to deal with your followers so gently. If you had been stern and hard-hearted, they would all have deserted you a long time ago. Forgive them and ask God to forgive (their sins) and consult with them in certain matters. But, when you reach a decision, trust God. God loves those who trust Him.

پیغمبر یہ اللہ کی مہربانی ہے کہ تم ان لوگوں کے لئے نرم ہو ورنہ اگر تم بدمزاج اور سخت دل ہوتے تو یہ تمہارے پاس سے بھاگ کھڑے ہوتے لہذا اب انہیں معاف کردو- ان کے لئے استغفار کرو اور ان سے امر جنگ میں مشورہ کرو اور جب ارادہ کرلو تو اللہ پر بھروسہ کرو کہ وہ بھروسہ کرنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے
