أَيَوَدُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَأَصَابَهُ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَلَهُۥ ذُرِّيَّةٌ ضُعَفَآءُ فَأَصَابَهَآ إِعْصَارٌ فِيهِ نَارٌ فَٱحْتَرَقَتْ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
“Does one of you like that he should have a garden of palms and vines with streams flowing beneath it; he has in it all kinds of fruits; and old age has overtaken him and he has weak offspring, when, (lo!) a whirlwind with fire in it smites it so it becomes blasted; thus Allah makes the communications clear to you, that you may reflect.”
Al-Baqarah 2:266

کیا تم میں سے کوئی یہ پسند کرتا ہے کہ اس کے پاس کھجور اور انگور کے باغ ہوں. ان کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں ان میں ہر طرح کے پھل ہوں--- اور آدمی بوڑھاہوجائے . اس کے کمزور بچے ہوں اور پھراچانک تیز گرم ہوا جس میں آگ بھری ہو چل جائے اور سب جل کر خاک ہوجائے . خداا سی طرح اپنی آیات کو واضح کرکے بیان کرتا ہے کہ شاید تم فکر کرسکو

آیا هیچ یک از شما خواهد که او را باغی باشد از درخت خرما و انگور و زیر آن درختان جویهای روان، و در آن هرگونه میوه موجود باشد، آن گاه ضعف و پیری بدو فرا رسد و او را فرزندان خرد و ناتوان باشد، پس در باغ او بادی آتشبار افتد و همه بسوزد؟ (حال کسی که به ریا انفاق کند بدین ماند). خداوند آیات خود را برای شما این چنین روشن بیان کند، باشد که (در مآل کارها و حقیقت احوال) فکر کنید.

(What do you think of the case) of one of you who wishes to have a garden of palm-trees and grapes with water flowing therein and producing all kinds of fruits, especially if he is well advanced in age and has weak children who need support, and then a hurricane with fire in it strikes the garden and burns it to the ground? This is how God explains to you His evidence so that you may think.
